Arriving in Barbados is the very beginning of your long-awaited holiday. Once your plane touches down at Grantley Adams Airport in Barbados and you disembark, we want the journey to your holiday accommodation to be as seamless and comfortable as possible. We know that you can’t wait to get to the beach or the pool and want to start your holiday right away!
We recommend that you have a driver meet you at the airport, and we’re happy to arrange this for you. The journey from the airport can be a challenge if you’re not familiar with the route, especially after a long flight and even more so if you arrive in the evening and it’s dark (it is dark from approximately 6pm depending on the time of year).
We have a regular driver, who is courteous and reliable, with air conditioned, comfortable vehicles. The driver would be waiting for you as you exit the arrivals hall, he has a sign with your name on. You pay the driver directly in cash. The cost is as follows:

You can sometimes get an airport taxi slightly cheaper, however, our driver will come specifically to meet you and be waiting for you (no queueing) and he will know exactly where you are going; with an airport taxi, you will be expected to give directions. Our driver also keeps in touch with us and the house manager throughout the journey so that we know you are arriving in Barbados safely and you are on your way.
If you would like to hire a car we’re happy to provide quotes for you and it can be delivered to your accommodation at your chosen time, you don’t need to drive it from the airport.
If you would like to speed your transition through passport control and customs, we offer a VIP Fast Track arrival service. The cost is US$50 per person (under 12 years go free). You are met as you leave the plane and head towards the arrival hall. You are guided through passport control, as diplomats and dignitaries are. You are assisted with luggage collection and escorted through customs. The Fast-Track representative will help you to your chosen form of transport from the airport. If you would like to book this service, we need the full names of everyone travelling (as shown on passports). Payment is made to Paradise Rentals in cash once you are in Barbados, or you can pay by credit card, Visa or MasterCard (there is a 5% processing fee for all card payments).
When you first get to your rental property, it’s a real bonus to have your fridge and cupboards stocked with all your favourite provisions. We offer a shopping service. All you have to do is email a shopping list. The charge is US$20 plus the cost of the items. You pay in cash on arrival and receipts are provided. We can source just about anything you desire: a huge range of drinks, wines, spirits etc. A wide variety of specialist ‘free-from’ foods are available and well as a good range organic produce. Locally sourced meat and fish can be provided and of course lots of lovely fresh fruit and vegetables. In addition to the locally produced items, we also have an extensive range of Waitrose products available.
