North Point, The Animal Flower Cave & Swimming in the Cave.  North Point and the Animal Flower Cave are located at the northern-most end of Barbados. This spot is known for its magnificent beautiful bay and fantastic ocean views from the clifftop.  The name ‘Animal Flower Cave’ comes from the sea anemones that can be found in the pools of the cave – some of which are deep enough to swim in. The walls of the Animal Flower Cave are full of interesting green and brown coloured formations and there are several openings that offer spectacular views looking out to the northern coast of Barbados where huge Atlantic waves crash against the spectacular cliffs.

Tour of St Nicholas Abbey.  Barbados is home to two of only three genuine Jacobean mansions in the western hemisphere. St. Nicholas Abbey – which was built in 1658 – is one of these.  You can enjoy exploring this magnificent great house, landscaped gardens, steam mill and rum distillery – and you may purchase rum and other sugar products at the gift shop.

Photo opportunity at the top of Cherry Tree Hill.  Cherry Tree Hill is part of the St. Nicholas Abbey plantation and the road that leads up to it is lined with mahogany trees. Being approximately 850 feet above sea level, this spectacular spot offers an excellent view of the ‘Scotland District’. Cherry Tree Hill is so named because of the large number of cherry trees that once existed at this location.

Rum shop visit in Bathsheba.  Bathsheba is located on the dramatic rugged east coast of Barbados, with Atlantic rollers breaking on the beautiful white sand beaches.  This stretch of coastline offers fantastic ancient coral reef rock formations, and Bathsheba beach is known as the ‘Soup Bowl’ where the sea is popular with surfers.  Stop and enjoy the scenery and a tot of rum in one of the infamous rum shops, as depicted in the picture by renowned local artist Jill Walker. (Visit Best of Barbados gift shops for more art by Jill Walker.)

Visit to Andromeda Botanical Gardens.  These historical gardens are located on the east coast of Barbados. The winding pathways will take you through the variety of unique trees, some of which are not found anywhere else in the Caribbean. You can relax by the main pond and enjoy the spirit of this wonderful place.
